Thai Language Learning
As adults, we understand that reading is a source of joy, entertainment and knowledge. For children, reading is an important skill for improving school performance. At Tonkla
School, we inspire the value of reading to our student by implementing various reading activities in our curricula and extra-curricular activity.
Tonkla School organizes the Love to Read program with various in-class, outside-classroom and at home activities. For example, we organize R15 at school, which stands for Read for 15 minutes. Here, we set aside 15 minutes each day for student to read a book of their choice. This way, students are encouraged to explore personal interests and engaging them in school activity.
Children acquire language skills through their surroundings. Often times, parents expect literacy at a very young age while using the learning methods that are fit for adults. Children acquire language skills naturally through interaction with parents and teachers. Once past infancy, children start to learn definition, spelling, and composition through story telling. This is assisted by including language learning in a joyful activity.
Tonkla School encourages our students to love to read. Thai language education is organized into the appropriate developmental stage by using picture books, story books, and all of our surroundings.
With so many things to learn, Tonkla School understands that meaningful development takes time. With our helping hands, students at our school are free to discover themselves and the world.
