Learning about numbers and data is very important because these skills are an important part of everyday life. Through the Open Approach Method, we focus on building a foundation of mathematical logic that will make mathematics both fun and challenging for our students. The students will not only be learners, but they will also develop into “thinkers” in order to fully reach their potential in the mathematical thinking process.
At Tonkla, we provide English activities that encourage a natural learning process (Whole Language Learning) for the preparation for the students to become a global citizen. We also place an emphasis on learning English as a second language, both inside and outside of the classroom. With our professional English speaking teachers, the children will be learning in a primarily English centered environment. They will be enhancing their listening and speaking skills while communicating with English speaking teachers for approximately 50% of overall class time each day. Later, there will be a focus on reading and writing skills. We believe that the natural learning process will help children learn English as a second language as effectively as they learned their mother tongue. Therefore, the students will have the ability to communicate naturally and creatively in any environment.
Developing Thai language is an important life skill for Thai people to maintain as it connects them with their nationality and community. It is also a tool for uncovering knowledge and information, both from the past and present. Learning Thai will help children develop aesthetic ideas through learning about fairy tales, short stories, poems, literature, local knowledge and situations that occur in everyday life. This will help the students to better understand the origin and meaning of the various elements of Thai language and will also help them communicate their feelings and imaginations more effectively.
Through the Project Approach method, children will learn about themselves through an integrated learning process of science, social studies, and technology. This learning method focuses primarily on the principles of observing, questioning, and self-experimenting. Through this process, the children will experiment with activities that will help them acquire knowledge that is useful to understand the physical nature of oneself and others, and how we can all live together in harmony.

Artistic Chinese Language
In Chinese class, the students will learn the meaning of Chinese words and phrases, pronunciation, as well as listening and speaking skills. Students will also learn about Chinese art and culture, which will help them further understand the language. The Chinese language is very artistic and contains many aesthetic values so it is easy for students to follow. Our underlying philosophy behind the Chinese language class is to help students accept and learn about other cultures in harmony.
Art is the subject that encourages students to express creativity in their work. It will help them develop physically, psychologically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. By using art, we understand students’ emotions towards what they see, hear, touch, smell and taste. It digs deeper into their imaginations, and it encourages them to access their natural state of creativity.
Physical Education is a fine balance between physical movements and the mind. By learning through games, rhythmic activities, land and water sports, students can build their endurance and kinesthetic abilities. They will also learn about sharing, leadership, teamwork, and how to follow rules. All of these qualities are important to the foundation of living a happy and healthy life.
Music and Dance
Music and dance will allow students to practice listening, singing, dancing, and "learning by doing". Students have the opportunity to express themselves creatively through freedom of movement. In addition, learning about music and dance helps the students understand the wisdom and values behind the relationship between Thai and international music.
